Porndogs Synopsis SUFF

“Porndogs: The Adventures of Sadie” is a sick and twisted hardcore porn film where all the actors are dogs, as in real live animals. Over thirty of our canine friends, a chicken and a man in a dog suit star in this 82 minute outrageous comedy with the following celebrities doing some of the voices: Marilyn Chambers, Ron Jeremy, Too $hort, Dustin Diamond, Heidi Fleiss, Paul Rodriguez, Tera Patrick, Evan Seinfeld, and Paul Ogata.

Sponsored by the Screen Actors Guild, think of it as “Benji Does Dallas” or “Animal Planet” on Viagra. Porndogs is at once a parody on human sexuality and a satire on adult films where the dogs talk and act just like people… or is it people who act just like dogs?

The story is simple. Sadie, the most beautiful yellow lab in the whole wide world, lives an idyllic, pampered life in the suburbs. One day, she comes into heat and has no idea what to do with her new found feelings and urges. When she learns that her loving owners are about to have her spayed, she runs away to the big city where her erotic adventures begin.

Whatever you may think of Porndogs, one thing is certain… you’ll never look at your dog the same way again! Oh, and by the way, no animals were harmed or injured in the making of this motion picture... in fact, they rather enjoyed it!

The Voice Talent

The search for voice talent didn’t begin until all photography was completed, the script was revised and an early trailer to the film was created. We signed a notable casting director who understood the project’s humor and intent and who had access to anybody and everybody in the industry. One of the most important decisions that we had to make was whether we should cast mainstream actors and comedians or rather to attract notorious celebrities including adult film stars. Initially we decided to reach out to both groups with the understanding that notorious celebrities were more appropriate for the film but that the right mainstream actor could bring wide publicity to the project. But ultimately we decided to preserve the integrity of the project by seeking stars whose careers and public personas paralleled the roles they were to play in the film.
Obviously, the lead role was the most critical and Marilyn Chambers was at the top of our list. When developing the structure to the script, I borrowed the motif of incorporating a voice-over for the protagonist from one of Marilyn’s films “Insatiable.” Furthermore, Sadie, the lead canine in the film, was a yellow lab (blonde) and played the role of an innocent, a role often played by Marilyn. But more importantly, we anticipated stirring up a fair share of controversy with Porndogs, and Marilyn was no novice to controversy with her debut hardcore performance in “Behind the Green Door.” What we didn’t know when we approached Marilyn was that she loved animals and had two dogs of her own.
Attaching Ron Jeremy was a gimme. No adult film, spoof on adult films or film having anything to do with pornography would be complete without Ron. However, when we originally cast him we intended for him to use his natural voice to play the film’s producer. It was a surprise that he was able to impersonate a famous celebrity so well. But then again, Ron is a man of immeasurable talents!
Some of the roles were racially and ethnically stereotyped, so finding a Hip Hop artist to play the Big Black Bad-ass Doberman was not much of a stretch. We contacted Too $hort not only because of his fame and stature but because of the image that he projects. When we learned he had also performed in a hardcore porn film, we knew we had found our man.
Besides being an accomplished actor and standup comedian, Dustin Diamond achieved notoriety with the release of a home-made porn film… perfect, and we all know of Heidi Fleiss’ claim to fame. As it turned out, the casting choices we made couldn’t have been better as the performances truly speak for themselves.

Behind the Work of Porndogs

As with most creative endeavors, inspiration stems from a simple notion, a whim or in the case of “Porndogs,” merely a joke. It is within the process of fleshing out the initial concept and bringing it to life that one discovers its depth and fullness.
Porndogs began as nothing more than a canard, a parody of adult films performed by dogs. At the time, had one asked me to explain the levels of humor and just how they were to be executed and revealed, I would have stumbled. Consciously, all I knew is that it would be funny. But subconsciously, I was acutely aware that this was an endeavor that had to be undertaken, regardless of cost and obstacle.
From a practical standpoint, Porndogs was an obvious choice for a low-budget, independent movie. I wouldn’t have to pay the actors! I also understood that the comedy would largely stem from the dialogue. And since this would all be done in post, the pains one normally takes to achieve clean sync sound could be eliminated. There would be no rehearsals, no make up, no second, third or fifteenth takes, no forgotten lines, and at best a minimum of costumes.
From a marketing standpoint, Porndogs was a natural. Simply put, sex sells! In addition, everyone loves dogs. But there was also an inherent potential for controversy. Questions as to the ethicality of the film might be raised as well as concerns regarding whether harm was done to the animals. Combine all of this with comedy and a concept that had never been done before, Porndogs would be a publicist’s dream. It wasn’t until later did I realize the potential of lining up celebrity talent to do the voice-overs.
When it came time to develop the script, I was finally forced to articulate the meaning and theme behind the film. What began as a parody of Pornography soon took on deeper significance. Not being an avid viewer of adult films, I had never considered how pornography played on the human psyche. But as I viewed a number of films, past and present, I started to realize that in a way, pornography is in and of itself satirical. The medium of pornography merely dramatizes and exaggerates human sexuality and moreover, many adult films of the 70s do so with humor. However, even when depicted with “tongue in cheek” comedy, I would argue that the element of satire is largely lost due to the titillating nature of the content. In a sense, it is difficult to satirize human sexuality through the depiction of human sexuality much in the same way as it is difficult to critique violence in film through the depiction of violence.
Picasso once said “Art is a lie that makes us realize the truth.”  Whereas pornography is less of a lie as it is fantasy, it was apparent that Porndogs was to be less a parody of adult films than it was to be a satire on human sexuality. If I could get the dogs to perform the array of sexual activities as presented in pornography, I will thereby have created a lie that will allow the viewer to realize the truth of our own sexual behavior. What was magical about the production was that I barely had to get the dogs to perform: Mother Nature took care of that. But then, if I were merely to depict dogs sniffing and copulating as nature prescribed, there would be little to distinguish Porndogs from a nature film.
What I realized is that the key to the satire lay in the manipulation of the film’s context. It is in this sense that Porndogs took on a Pavlovian quality. Essentially, I could allow the dogs to do what dogs naturally do – with a little coaxing of course. But with a few appropriately colored sets and props, by overdubbing the same misogynistic dialogue that accompanies so many adult films and by applying a soundtrack that in places borrows from stereotypical porn music, I might be able to convince the viewer that s/he is actually watching porn. By applying the aesthetics of pornography, the aesthetics that we have all been conditioned to recognize, in a way, upon viewing Porndogs we will have become like Pavlov’s dogs, reacting to a subconscious cultural conditioning. Ultimately, without our knowing it, we will at once be disgusted by and forced to laugh at ourselves. “The Treachery of Images (Ceci n’est pas une pipe)” – Magritte

Paul Ogata

Paul Ogata is NOT a porn star, however rumor has it that he’d like to be one. But he is a funny guy: not a bad asset for a comedian. In 2004 he competed in “The TakeOut Comedy Competition” held across America and was crowned the winner, officially becoming the funniest Asian-American Comedian in the U.S. Three years later he won the prestigious “32nd Annual San Francisco International Comedy Competition.” He has appeared on “The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn,” the television series “Live at Gotham” and “Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen.” In film, he has starred in “Behind the Smile” directed by Damon Wayans and “Amasian: The Amazing Asian.” He also won a 1999 Hawaii Music Award for his song “Mental Oriental.” You can catch Paul all over the world performing as a stand-up comedian at such celebrated venues as the “Laugh Factory” in Hollywood, New York, and Honolulu, “The Ice House” in Pasadena, “The TakeOut Comedy Club” in Hong Kong, “The Punch Line Comedy Club” in San Francisco and “The Comedy Club @ DXO” in Singapore to name just a few. In “Porndogs: The Adventures of Sadie” Paul plays Master Dong, a Shar-pei who betrays the male Asian stereotype in a BIG way. Paul has two dogs, Coffee Bean and Nala, both of whom also aspire to be porn stars. But as Paul and his pack are quickly learning, it’s not an industry for everyone!

Evan Seinfeld

Evan Seinfeld is a rock star, mainstream actor, adult film actor, producer, writer, director and entrepreneur. Where does one start? Perhaps best known for his tenure as bassist and vocalist for the heavy metal band “Biohazard,” he has since moved on to found the band “Spyderz” and is the bass player for “Tattooed Millionaires.” As a mainstream actor you would have seen him playing the character of Jaz Hoyt in the TV series “Oz” and in feature films such as “Kiss Me Again” and “The Wizard of Gore.” Married to the stunning Tera Patrick, he stars in numerous adult films, most notably “Reign of Tera” and “Tera Tera Tera” under the pseudonym Spyder Jones. He has produced, written and directed many adult films and teamed up with Tera to found the production company “Teravision” of which he is CEO. On television, he has appeared as himself in several documentaries, has been a guest on “Howard Stern,” starred in the series “Supergroup” and was featured in “E! True Hollywood Stories.” And if that’s not enough, he has been a voice actor in more than a dozen video games and is now the voice of Clyde, a White Lab in “Porndogs: The Adventures of Sadie.” Tera and Evan compete for screen time with their two dogs. Tera has a Toy Fox Terrier named Chopper and Evan has a Dutch Shepherd named Bandit.  Consideration was given to Chopper and Bandit to perform in “Porndogs” but somehow it felt a bit too incestuous!
